US Army Air Force Shearling WWII FLIGHT JACKET BOMBER 40R
This is a WWII Wool coat. The temp at the height WWII bombers flew at was brutal. There was no heated cabin but heated flight suits or these along with the complete wool suit head to toe. This one is complete and the only damage is to the right pocket and a thin spot on the collar. The leather around the pocket let go not the sticking. That is the only hole in the coat. The zipper is shot. Your not going to get that woking again. The coat is not one your probably will be able to ware any way. It showing it age and rather stiff and flexing will only do more damage to the finish and it may even rip because of its age. I do not think they were making these coats to last 70 years. This is US ARMY AIR CORP history not to ware on a cold day in suburbia. I can see this coat in the photos of a door gunner in a B17 shooting his 50 at a passing fighter. I have four auctions going with items all. Related to flight crews waring this outfit. These items are no from one individual but a assembly of items.
