Ww1. 1918. U. S. Army Pilot. Aviation Original Training Notes. Call Field. Texas
A very scarce and unique item from WWl. The complete hand written training notes of G L Simpson from the early part of 1918. Simpson was training to be a Pilot in the U. Army and to fight in World War One. This large batch of papers which includes a lovely descriptive letter home, were all written whilst training at Call Field, Wichita Falls, Texas. There are seven thick envelopes covering all aspects of the training, including the aircraft, rigging, engines, guns etc. All hand written in pencil and illustrated with little diagrams. I do not know if Simpson went on to fight and if so whether he came home or not. This would need some detailed research. Aviator memorabilia is rare. The item “WW1. 1918. U. S. ARMY PILOT.
