U. S. Army Air Corps A-2 size 42 Original! 8th Air Force militay WW2 antique
This is a U. Army Air Corps A-2 Flight Jacket, actual item from the period used in World War II. The tag indicates size 42, and the following are actual measurements. Length/56cm, Body width/60cm, Shoulder width/53cm, Sleeve length/58cm, Hem width/45cm, Body Hand-painted wing emblem of the 8th Air Force on the left shoulder. Wing is a long type. Hand-painted Donald Duck about to throw a bomb from the clouds on the left chest. Traces of leather name tag removed above it. The leather quality of the body is good with natural fading, slight staining, and darkening around the collar. No cracks or tears. It retains sufficient suppleness. Zipper The zipper has been replaced with a later Talon slider with a larger slider than the original (6th photo). It is extremely smooth with no movement problems. Lining: Original, but with new inner pockets on both sides (9th photo). The tag has a lot of text missing, but the words WILLIS & GEIGER are still legible. There is a slight scuff near the hem and a few small holes a few millimeters in diameter. Sleeve ribs: One at the attachment of the right sleeve rib and one near the tip. Each has a slight stitching tear and has been covered with thread to prevent it from spreading. There is no damage to the left sleeve rib. Hem rib: No damage. Based on the current condition of the garment, it is likely that the original zipper has been broken and replaced, and the inside pocket has been processed into the inner lining. The ribs look original, but considering that they are in too good condition, we can assume that they were also replaced with genuine government-issued ribs at the same time.
