Army Air Forces Case, Celestial Navigation Type A-6. The chest is very rare but in rough condition. Measures 23 x 10.5 x 10 inches. The leather is flexible but has some splitting. The straps are split. One of the leather loops is missing. There are stains and the metal is pitting. It has an information plate that reads Case Celestial Navigation Type A-6 specification No. 94-40712 Assembly Drawing No. (33-038) 45-101-AF Oshkosh Trunks and Luggage Property U. Also includes a sextant in the carry case, some pages from a sextant manual, a Department of the Air Force Air Navigation manual 51-40, book Serology for pilots dated 1943, book Effects of flight dated 1943, and 4 books of flying in weather (ice formation on aircraft, the warm front, air masses and fronts, fog).
