WW II US Army Air Force Aircraft TYPE AN-H-15 FLIGHT HELMET NOS EXCELLENT
The AN-H-15 helmet was introduced as the standard summer or light weight for the Army Air Force and Navy on April 23, 1943. It served as the replacement for the Type A-9 flying helmet. It was the first flying helmet designed under the joint Army/Navy procurement program. Made of a tan khaki cotton material, this flight helmet is in VERY NICE condition for its age! No rips or tears, however the earphones were removed, as you can see in the photos. Features an Army Air Forces stamp. No rust or corrosion on the metal fittings. Probably dating around 19454, i. T is marked as LARGE in size. Sadly, the leather around the snap is cracked/broken (see photo). Would need to be repaired/reinforced for use. Would make a PERFECT addition to any.
