This is the uniform of 5th Air Force Captain Glenn Younger (ASN: 0185747). Captain Younger’s military history is quite long. Spanning from before WWI to after Korea. He began his career with the U. Army on 7/1/1913 when he enlisted with Company D of the 4th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment. On 1/24/1916 he was promoted to Corporal. From 7/15 to 11/8/1916 he had recruiting duty in Illinois. Younger was federally recognized as Corporal on 7/25/1917. For his WWI service, he went overseas on the S. Agamemnon with Company D of the 130th Infantry Regiment. Younger then left France on the S. He arrived in the U. On 5/20/1919 at the same rank and with the same unit. On 5/24/1922 he then received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant and joined Company M of the 130th Infantry Regiment. Younger was then promoted to 1st Lieutenant on 7/26/1926 and then to Captain on 10/4/1926 (federally recognized on 8/6/1934). In 1940 he graduated an infantry school for National Guard officers and was still with Company M into 1941. Sometime after this he served with the 5th Air Force. His career came to an end on 11/30/1955 when he retired from the reserves at the rank of Captain. Post career, he was the president of the 130th Infantry Regiment Association. This uniform features awesome sewn ribbons and a highly desirable felt 5th Air Force patch. There is obvious ghosting behind the lapel insignia. Please note that a couple of the clutch backs are missing. This is how I received it. Sad to see this one go!
