Vintage WW II US Army/Air Force Sextant Bubble in Marked Original Case Type A-12
This sale is for a World War II A-12 Bubble Sextant in the original case that may have missing parts. Marked on the front of the case is E. Online sources show that Schadler was onboard a B17 Fortress on March 9,1944 that crashed in Germany on a bombing mission near Berlin. He was the holder of the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, a Purple Heart, an American Theater and E. Schadler enlisted November 6, 1941 as part of the 96th Bombardment Group B17 #42-30847 (Pegasus). This information was found in a newspaper article dated April 23, 1950. There is additional information about Schadler online. The latches and hinges work well and there is no key. The box is in used condition as pictured. The batteries shown in the case are not part of the original box and will not be included in the sale of this piece.
