WW II German Army Air Force M30 GAS MASK & CANISTER NAMED NICE

These masks were issued to all Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht personnel throughout WW2. With the development of poisonous gases used as offensive weapons throughout WW1, appropriate defensive gasmasks had to be developed. The early M1915 and 1917 gasmasks evolved into the M24, and eventually into the M30 and M38 versions. All German Army and Airforce personnel were issued a gas mask, carry canister and accessories, and were required to have them ready at all times. Made of green rubber and canvas, this M30 pattern gas mask is in VERY NICE condition, and all the fabric covered straps and buckles are intact! The metal alloy eye socket frames and snout retain 98% original paint, and the celluloid eye-socket lenses are VERY CLEAR. Though the rubber is a bit stiff, overall it is in EXCELLENT condition with light age and all components intact! Size is marked as a “2”. The mask comes complete with a stamped, multi-piece filter marked, Fe 41. It retains 95% of its original field grey paint (some wear and dents to the bottom). The canister is EXCELLENT, retaining with 80% of it’s original paint, and is approx. 11 tall with a spring-loaded type hinge closure. Some wear, corrosion and dents due to the age. Lid has a square box to carry the replacement lenses, and includes 2 sets of lenses. Features the name of the original soldier. Comes complete with most of the original straps, but not all. Cleaning cloth and cloth retaining spring are also included. PERFECT addition to any collection or display! TERMS OF SALE.
