WWII US 8th Army Air Force P51 Fighter Pilot Photo Albums Scrap Books (2)Uniform. Two wonderful WWII photo Albums to a vet that served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, Lt Colonel Don Weitzel. The smaller album contains photos of the vets training starting on a train in Arizona to Texas, and then to California 1943. This book has many photos of Weitzel, and other vets flying training aircraft in their cadet uniforms. It also features photos of family, friends. The second larger album are photos taken during and directly after the war. This albums front cover has fallen off, and there are several loose photos that have fallen out. This book contains photos of Weitzel, and his wife Davey who was a WAC and shows him in uniform with his pilots wings, in a P51 Mustang, many buddys & theirs names, Le Harve France, Germany, Dachau, Austria, Davey in her WAC uniform, 689th Air Squadron football game, 98th General Hospital, wedding photos (including a wedding cake that they cut with a German sword) Berchtesgaden, Hitlers blown up house, Venice Italy. There are over 400 photos in this album alone, and most are taken post war as the couple are touring Europe, but it is very interesting to see the many place that they go and there are phenomenal photos of vets in their uniforms with 8th and 9th AAF patches, wings and ribbons, etc! This is just a treasure trove of history to a vet that served in WWII and two wars after. Thank you for looking and good luck!
