Rare 1950 Howard Chandler Christy US Army Air Force Poster Linen Korean Conflict

Authentic Korean Conflict Poster. Poster Size: 25 1/8″x 37 3/4″. Linen backing is approx. Text in upper left-hand corner. “Give us the FAITH and COURAGE of our FOREFATHERS”. This poster was created by Christy for the Layman’s National Committee, Inc. In New York City only a few months after the beginning of the conflict. This poster was gifted to the artist’s clients who began corresponding with Christy beginning in 1950 and continuing into 1951. They had a son in the navy at the time. Howard Chandler Christy painted individual portraits of the couple in 1951. Christy died shortly afterwards 1952. It is unknown whether he sent them the poster or personally gave it to them. This poster was in pristine condition when I acquired it. I had it professionally linen mounted by M&W Graphics in New York. Howard Chandler Christy lived from 1873 to 1952. He was one of the United States’ premier artists of his time. He was well known for his illustrations for popular publications, books and his paintings. His WWII posters are famous. As far as I know, this is the only poster that he did for the Korean Conflict. This listing is for one authentic 1950. Korean Conflict poster by Howard Chandler Christy.
