This is a rare and historically significant WWII U. Army Air Forces Pilot Aviator Belted Tropical Uniform, named to Lt. 0-2061543 and dated June 19, 1944. This uniform is directly tied to the distinguished service of the 3rd and 9th Air Forces, two critical components of the U. Air power in the European and Mediterranean theaters during WWII. Whitney served under the 3rd and 9th Air Forces, two pivotal commands in the U. Army Air Forces during WWII.
