WWII US Army Air Force Pilots Type C-1 Sustenance Survival Vest


Army Air Forces C-1 Emergency Sustenance Vest, manufactured by Sears, Roebuck & Co. This type of vest was issued to pilots and aircrew for holding survival equipment in the event of bailout or emergency landing. Features multiple specialized pockets and the faint AAF winged-star insignia printed on the interior. Tag is present and readable. An authentic wartime flight item with real use and patina. Heavily worn with staining, pocket fraying, and areas of fabric deterioration. Some printed pocket stencils remain visible. No attempt has been made to clean or restore. Solid display value and a genuine WWII aviation artifact.
