WWII US Army Air Force Type B-4 Mae West Inflatable Life Preserver Vest NICE

WWII Era US Army Air Force Type B-4 Mae West Life Preserver Vest – Dated 1943 – Original – NICE Condition. Up for sale is a WWII US Army Air Force Type B-4 Mae West Life Preserver Vest. This is the inflatable vest that was used by US Army AAF Pilots and Air Crewmen during WWII. It was designed to be inflated by a CO2 cartridge. The CO2 inflation mechanism is still present. There are two inflator mechanisms, one on each side of the vest. The two manual inflation tubes are no longer present. The vest is flexible, not stiff and cracking. No rips or tears. It has all the straps. There is evidence of a repair to the rear strap and one side strap, see photos. It is used, see photo’s for condition. It still has the US AAF markings and is dated 1943. The markings are faint, but readable. This would make a great accessory to add to your WWII US Pacific Theater Collection. Check out my other items.
