This unit comes paired with its accompanying U. Army Air Forces Reflex Sight (Type X-1) manufactured by The W. The Norden Bombsight was the “top secret” heart of American precision daylight bombing during WWII, famously used on aircraft like the B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator. Model: Norden Bombsight M-9B UPPER. Serial No: N-10916. Order No: AC-9165. Reflex Sight: Type X-1 (Serial No: 7810). Power: 28 Volt Lamp system (Mazda 1666-IF). This unit is in excellent vintage “as-found” aesthetic condition. Body: The black “crinkle” finish is largely intact with minor wear consistent with age and storage. Optics: The glass on the reflex sight and the primary lens appear clear, though they have not been professionally cleaned or tested for internal clarity. Wiring: Original wiring is present but shows fraying and age; should be inspected by a professional before any attempt to power the 28V lamp system.
